If you need some suggestions, we recommend you stop by to see April, just down the street from us at Sip… a wine store, where there is a great selection of eco-friendly wines.
Beer lovers, we have something for you, too. We feature multiple NC local craft beers as part of our effort to go local. The local brewers are doing a very fine job with their brews. We like to rotate them to bring in new and popular ones. Here is a partial list of some NC beers we’ve offered:
Bad Penny (Big Boss Brewing Company, Raleigh): a “dark brown ale…slightly sweet with a caramel and dark fruit finish.” *Equally tasty with samosas and curry bowls alike.”
Shotgun Betty (Lonerider Ales, Raleigh): “a wheat beer with rich, banana-clove nose and refreshing dry finish.” *A lovely accompaniment to vegetarian and chicken dishes, especially in the warmer months.*
Weeping Willow Wit (Mother Earth Brewing, Kinston): “a Belgian Wit offering a light flavor that carefully balances sweet and tart.” *Try it with a masala green bowl!*
The Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout (The Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery, Farmville): “a traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). The subtle sweetness imparted by the lactose balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains which give this delicious beer its black color.” *Delicious with Martin’s flan.*
Highland Kashmir IPA (Highland Brewing, Asheville): “a dry pale ale with an aggressive hop character and a smooth finish.” *Only the best IPAs can stand up to Martin’s spicy red sauce.*
Highland Gaelic Ale (Highland Brewing, Asheville): “a deep amber colored American ale, featuring a rich malty body. Cascade and Willamette hops add a complex hop flavor and aroma. This ale is exceptionally balanced between malty sweetness and delicate hop bitterness.”
In addition to the NC beers, we also offer these fine brews:
Kingfisher Premium Lager: a conventionally fermented Indian beer that enhances the flavor of many cuisines.
Carib: a lager from Trinidad and Tobago that has a light taste and delicious finish.
Asahi: a Japanese rice lager, fairly dry.
Heineken Light: If you’re in the mood for a safe yet delicious light beer.
Please suggest good beers that you love. We will work to get them and let you know we made it happen.
